Crasy Little Thing Called Love
Have You: Watch Casino Royale? I did, last Saturday evening…
“What’s up with her?”
“Girl?” said AuntyLH, looking back over her shoulder at AuntyJ. “Don’t worry, it’s nothing contagious. She’s just all loved up.”
AuntyJ gave a little snort as she continue to clean the glasses behind the bar. “Might have guessed,” she laughed.
“That misty-eyed way she’s staring out the window; the way she’s tearing the beer mat into tiny pieces; the fact she hasn’t touched that bag of nuts I so kindly chucked her way earlier…It’s a sure sign she’s a goner.
So who’s the lucky guy? It’s not one of her crowd, is it?
“Nah,” AuntLH replied, picking up a glass of orange juice AuntyJ poured for her. “It’s someone she met when she’s at college. (Not exactly)
I think he’s really blown her away.” “Aww, young love. Isn’t it nice to see?” said AuntyJ with just a hint of sarcasm.
“Yeah, especially since girl tended to be better known for young lust in the past…” AuntyLH agreed, walking away from the kitchen.
Awhile later in the kitchen…
“There you go,” AuntyJ, plonking the glass down in front of me. “Thanks,” I said, eyeing the contents of the glass dubiously. “I’d still rather have had a pint of lager, though, just to calm my nerves.” (Sound I’m joking, no?) ”
Well, you can’t, not since you’re driving tonight,” AuntyJ reminded me. “And anyway, why are you nervous? You’ve been out on a date with him once already this week, so what’s the problem?”
“The problem,” I grinned sheepishly, “is that he makes me turn mush every time I think of him. Look, I’ve got goosebumps at the thought of seeing him again!”
AuntyJ examined the outstretched arm. Those were definitely goosebumps. Either that or I was suffering from a rare tropical skin disease.
“That can’t be right, though, can it? Feeling so weird like this over a guy?” I asked, gazing down at the hairs standing to attention on my forearm.
“I mean, I’ve been a bag of nerves. And I’ve been breaking out into a sweat when I think about him too.”
“Are you off your food as well?” asked AuntyJ, noting the unopened packet of honey roast nuts. “Yeah, yeah, I am!” I said. “Don’t worry about it, girl. All that’s wrong with you is that you’re in love, and ’cause that’s never happened to you before, it’s freaking you out.”
I felt a furious blush surge into my cheeks. “Wow! You’re even blushing!” AuntyJ sniggered. “You are in love.” “Well, I wouldn’t say that…” I waffled…
Edited:
28112006, I actually feel relieved after all. At least today I know the truth of you behind the mask. Even though my heart still aching, things was much more better, I believe it will…

Sounds more like a lust than a ‘love’.
Just a past anyway… View all comments by dstl1128
